CARS Microscopes

A CARS microscope can be constructed from a commercial confocal microscope or incorporated into an existing system. The original CARS images required 30 minutes to acquire, but imaging at video rate (30 frames/s) is now possible and commercial CARS instruments are coming to the market. In our lab, microscopes from three of the world's leading manufacturers, Leica, Olympus and Zeiss, are used to perform CARS experiments. Below are photographs of the instruments in our group.
