| Sixth Annual CRS Workshop at Harvard |
|

Thanks to everyone who helped make the Sixth Annual CRS Workshop
at Harvard a success!
Forty-six trainees from eleven different countries participated in the 2009 CRS Workshop. Stimulated Raman Scattering microscopy was successfully demonstrated for the first time on five microscope systems, and compared with a CARS contrast mechanism. Demonstration experiments included tracking lipid uptake of omega-3 fatty acid in cells, monitoring transdermal drug delivery into skin using SRS microscopy, visualizing lignin and cellulose distributions in plants with SRS imaging, and imaging brain tissue at video rate.
