Thanks to everyone who helped make the Fourth Annual CARS Workshop
at Harvard a success!
Once again we have thirty-two trainees from twelve different countries, topping the capacity for hands-on training and continuing our tradition of providing an exceptional instructor to trainee ratio. This year we received generous support from several new sponsors, including Chroma Technologies, Leica Microsystems, Pfizer Inc, and Zeiss. This was in addition to the continued support of APE, Coherent, High Q Laser, and Olympus . The three-day workshop featured lectures from two new speakers: Dr. Chrisita Ackermann of Pfizer, Inc., talking about skin and FM CARS; and Professor Geoff Young of Harvard Medical School, who presented collaborative work with us on imaging brain tumors with CARS. Highlighting the training sessions on the last day were two new experiments, familiarizing trainees with FM modulation and with video-rate CARS on our Leica microscope.
